Latex – The correct maintenance Part 3/3

Latex: How do I put it on and how do I make it shine?
1) Getting dressed

How do you put latex on without fuss? I believe that you need to develop a personal technique that will work for you. I am more of a “stand-up” person, I put my clothes on upright. Some people squeeze into latex while sitting down. No matter which way you finally manage to accomplish this task, it is an arduous one, whereby you need to be extremely careful. I use silicone oil to help me slip latex on. You can also do it quite properly with talcum powder, but I dislike the white streaks that build up when sweat and talcum mix under the second skin… shudder

If you apply silicone oil onto your skin and then you put on the latex, then there is not much that you can do wrong. Be careful with your fingernails and if you have any jewelry on. Despite being capable of some stretching, latex is by no means impenetrable. If you tug and pull too much, you can rip the material quite easily. It is much better to do some adjusting afterwards, in case something is not quite there where it is supposed to be. To fine-tune the whole setup, I generally use my hands to smooth down the entire latex with controlled force, putting the last inch exactly where it belongs.

If you did your applying of silicone oil properly, the tweaking works without friction. Plenty of fine corrections are easily done, because with some assistance, everything pops right into place. If we are talking catsuit, then this is the proper Sway-technique, until now a top secret formula

With transparent latex there is another secret procedure that works wonder. Turn the garment inside out and lubricate every inch of it with silicone oil. Afterwards, put some of the silicone oil on body parts where you will wear the said garment and put it on. Somehow this results into latex sticking to your body just about perfectly and the see-through element is just right and not milky shaded or bleak.

Silicone oil:

What works better for achieving the perfect shine, oil or spray? Silicone oil is the ultimate all-rounder. No matter if you use it for maintenance, to put latex on, or to polish it to glorious shine, it does it all. But if you apply it with your hands, it happens that grease stripes build up. It is not bad, it just is not the 110% perfection that you did expect.  You can fix it by using a lint-free cloth or a sponge, evening out the surface until you receive the immaculate perfection that dwarfs piano polish shine. I take silicon oil every time I am travelling, it is practical and easily manageable and you can put it in all possible containers and bottles for uncomplicated transport.
A little tip for you: If you put silicone oil into small plastic bottles, then you can have it quite handy at a party, for instance. When other girls go to freshen up their make-up, you can also rejuvenate some shine on your latex at the same time.

I simply adore silicone spray! It applies like a flawless film over latex and adds to the silicone oil polish the boost into hyper overdrive. This perfectly glossy shine is simply unbeatable and the reflecting properties are unbelievable. Unfortunately the perfection lasts as long as the silicone oil shine lasts, namely until you touch it with something. Right away you will see the first streaks and fingerprints. But what I am talking here about is the 200% overdrive shining perfection.

I have to warn you to take extreme caution, though, in combination with tiles and similarly sleek surfaces, the whole affair can very easily turn into a slip n’ slide! While it may be fun, it is also a serious hazard.

This was the third and final part of the series “Latex – The correct maintenance”.
I wish all of you well and a lot of fun. Enjoy your shiny and wonderful latex garments.
Yours, Sway
