Football World Cup and Photoshooting on Crete

This July it was time for me to once again visit Greece. I loaded the luggage and departed for a two week stay on the beautiful island of Crete. I knew that Greece could get very, very hot in the main summer months and I was kind of anxious how the latex photo shoots would pan out. Visions of searing heat and a sweat trail in the sand following my every move flashed before my inner eye. I was optimistic and looked forward to the ordeal, which was just right, because we made some great series, despite the heat.

A nice picture of model Susan Wayland on CreteWe also employed some good old tricks, like going easy on the latex body coverage and avoiding the catsuits when manageableAll the other stuff we did, well… allow me to keep some secrets to myself, will you?

There are a lot of things necessary, all of which working perfectly in concert would constitute a good photo shoot. A good model, for instance, I do hope you find me adequate, interesting poses, chic and sexy latex attire, a good photographer, proper lighting and much, much more technical and professional stuff that I would not want to bother you with.

Susan Wayland has fun on an airbed in latex fashionBesides all the pre-requisites, there should always be the certain je-ne-sais-quoi, some panache, the indescribable feeling that you are witnessing something special, an event that is unlikely to be repeated, a unique performance. We always try to catch that elusive spark of inspiration, but that is easier said than done, since that there is unfortunately no on/off button for that particular kind of thing. Crete is a magical place and the sheer presence there was enough to lift us up and we soared with ideas and creativity. One of the photo series that were created in such a spurt of inventiveness was when I got my hands on that fun air mattress. The colorful thing was extremely entertaining, but also extremely slippery. Just imagine this combination: latex, silicon oil, water and air mattress. Do you get the drift? Thank goodness that Norman has a very high tolerance level, besides the undeniable professionalism, because it was quite an accomplishment to catch a giggling Sway hopping around with the mattress running wild all over the water and make it look sexy. I still do not know how he did it, but the shots look gorgeous.

Susan Wayland as a sexy worker girl in latexI am also a great fan of construction site action. Loaded with all the necessary accessories you might find in a stone pit and a good deal more, we tried to accomplish some kind of an interactive photo series. We find that it turned out to be a terrific one.The pictures are sexy and have the certain ”oomph” we were looking to create. The location was just the right backdrop for our equipment we brought and the idea worked even better than as we imagined it would be. Me as a construction site babe, imagine that! ;-)

There is another series I simply have to report to you about. Inspired by our successful and fruitful construction site session, we decided to recreate an early project of ours, the Unique-Artwork Norman Richter and I did some eight years ago. At that time we tried to get an audience interested in our photography and scouted locations such as broken down buildings, old and abandoned construction sites and similar, wherewith we caught the public attention for the first time. This time we scouted places all over Crete and found countless such sites.

Model Susan Wayland in a transparent latex combinationWe simply combined the melancholy scenery with some latex and suddenly had a story to tell, new and old, alive and abandoned, clean and rotten, displaying a contrast that moved, inspired and enchanted. Simply priceless! Maybe I am intertwining my memories with the final results, but I really feel strongly about this gallery and hope that you will agree with me. One thing I know for sure, the outfit I am wearing is out of this world. The black transparent latex trousers and the see-through blouse show off all my attributes to the fullest, without displaying too much. Sometimes less is more, but you may beg to differ, right? ;-)

Susan Wayland has fun at the beach wearing latexTo round it all up, it was a swell time on Crete! We worked a lot, sometimes just hung around, followed our German boys doing quite well at the World Championship in European Football – or if you prefer ”Soccer” – and shocked and surprised plenty of Greeks, when I sailed by them on the street, all clad in tight latex. I was a sight to be seen, and some of that I share here with you :-)

Yours,

SWAY
