The secrets of platinum blonde hair

I was asked how I care my light hair and what kind of hair care products I’m using to prevent the annoying yellowness. So this entry is for all you guys using H2O2 regularly and for all like to read in my Beauty Box.

Does bleaching damages my hair?

Yes, definitely it does damage your hair. It’s the worst you can do with your hair and to your scalp. So here are some little hints to make your next bleaching as most harmless like it’s possible.

  • Do think very objective about what kind of hair structure do you have. Bleached hair can look very “thinly”. If you have smooth and thin hair it can happens that the result emphasizes your hair structure even more and your final hair color looks “fuzzy” too. But if you have very thick and strong hair your chances to get a healthy, strong and voluminous looking blonde shade are very good. I have very thick, strong and voluminous hair due to my grandma

  • Bleaching can attack your scalp badly. My advice: Do not wash your hair for three days until you will bleach. The natural skin grease will protect your scalp very well against the aggressive chemical products.

  • Use good and gentle bleaching products. I prefer the ones of Goldwell. Since I’m using it no more hair is breaking during the bleaching progress, my hair is healthier than ever and the blonde shade looks extremely cool

  • I’m using bleaching products with 9%. If you don’t have such strong “horse hair” like I have it should be also good with using 6% and if it’s needed simply keep it longer on your head. I would never use bleaching products with 12% .

Some different hair care products

What kind of care products?

Bleached hair don’t have an intact cuticle anymore. Therefore the hair can look dull, matt and fragile. A very good care on a permanent basis is the A and O for a as good as possible looking blonde hair. A care for especially dyed blonde or rough handled hair will be the right one. I like the care products of Tigi (Bed Head) and L’oréal (Shine blonde, Kérastase Résistance) very much!

What doing against yellowness?

Shiny cool platinum blond doesn’t need one thing in general: horrible yellowness. Unfortunately you can’t prevent it. The yellowness will occur one day and it doesn’t matter what kind of bleaching you had used. There is only one thing you can do: Silver shampoo! Even if you think you would smear ink into your hair. Don’t worry, silver shampoo works wonders!

I do use the silver shampoo from L’oréal Experts around once a week and between the bleaching to spice up the blond I use the color shading 10/V pastel-violablond from Goldwell. That product is a dream and makes a beautiful blonde shade.

Yours,
SWAY
